Registration has begun for the "Live Healthy Iowa 100-Day Wellness Challenge," which will be conducted in Winneshiek County and throughout the state of Iowa from January 20th through April 29th.
One of the 100-Day Challenge local organizers is Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Administrative Officer Dan Werner: "Our goal as a community is to move from wellness initiatives -- such as the 100-Day Challenge – to an overall cultural change."
Over the course of 100 days, teams ranging in size from 2-10 people compete in friendly competition tracking activity minutes and/or weight loss through the Live Healthy Iowa website.
For $20, each participant receives a training T-shirt; a one-year magazine subscription; weekly motivational e-mail tips and recipes; personal tracking page with daily journal; unlimited access to recipes, workouts and health information; and a chance to win prizes ranging from gift cards, bikes or a Caribbean cruise for two.
