MetroNet is one step closer to a reality

The citywide fiber optic cable network stringing together City Hall, the Courthouse, Luther College, Winneshiek Medical Center and Decorah Schools is one step closer to a reality.

The Decorah City council Monday night unanimously approved signing the 28E agreement that spells out the terms of operation among the five organizations.  That leaves just the Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees, which is expected to approve the agreement on Wednesday.

City council members also voted Monday night to name City Administrator Jerry Freund as the city's representative on the MetroNet board.
