City council names two people to city committees

The Decorah City Council has approved two appointments to city committees.  The council voted unanimously Monday night to appoint Sue Sander to the Board of Adjustment and to reappoint Brett Willie to the Airport Commission.

One committee opening remains unfilled.  City officials say Kirk Johnson will not seek another term on the Planning & Zoning Commission.  They are looking for someone to replace him.  City officials note they are particularly interested in having a proper gender balance on committees, so women are encouraged to apply for the opening by contacting City Hall.
