Decorah Police are reporting three more car accidents, with snowy roads a factor in at least two.
On Monday at 2:35 p.m., 33-year-old Jason McGee of Decorah lost control of his vehicle on Montgomery Street and it crossed over the center line, hitting an oncoming car driven by 40-year-old Kevin Ames of Calmar. The accident cuased $4,000 in damages. Neither driver was injured nor ticketed.
On Tuesday at 8:25 a.m., 37-year-old Nicole McCasland of Decorah lost control of her car on Old Stage Road, went on the right shoulder, then crossed over the center liner and struck a car driven by 47-year-old Lillian Quam of Decorah, causing $5,500 in damages. Neither driver was ticketed or injured.
Around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday24-year-old Tristan Halweg of Decorah allegedly cut in front of a car being driven in the opposite direction on Mechanic Street by 32-year-old Marie Ann Riha of Fort Atkinson. The accident caused $10,000 in damages. Halweg received a traffic ticket for failure to maintain control of her vehicle.
