North Winneshiek feeling effects of state budget cuts

The North Winneshiek School District's general fund balance decreased by $202,111 during the 2010 fiscal year, according to an audit performed by Hackern Nelson.

The decrease is being blamed on the state's 10 percent across the board cut in school aid from last year.  The North Winn audit also stated that the North Winn school district's solvency ratio is -1.2 percent.
