Icy roads not much of a problem for Decorah motorists

Maybe most people stayed inside during the weekend's snow and freezing rain.  In any case, there were just two traffic accidents reported by police.

Saturday afternoon around 2:15 p.m. Amanda Weinhandl of Eagan, Minnesota skidded into a car driven by Lane Schwarz of Decorah, causing $4,500 in damages.  The accident occurred on Broadway at Montgomery Street.  Weinhandl was not ticketed.

On Friday evening around 6:45 p.m. Laura Grittner of Shoreview, Minnesota lost control of her car on Heivly Street and struck a utility pole, causing $1,500 in damages.  She was not injured.
