Decorah Students Attend Honor Band

                    
15 students from Decorah Community Schools recently participated in the 47th annual NorthEast Iowa Bandmasters Association (NEIBA) Honor Band.  The students were selected from among 750 students nominated from around the NEIBA District.  The students were divided up into four equal bands: two middle school bands and two high school bands. Following a day of rehearsals, they presented a final concert in the Oelwein High School gymnasium that evening. Nearly 500 students participated.

Representing the Decorah 8th grade band were:

Their honor band conductors were David Newport (retired) from Grinnell High School and Robert Manson from CR Taft Middle School.
