Decorah Police and Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies have been busy ever since Friday snowstorm.
On Friday afternoon, 77-year-old Arlene Lensing of Calmar and 57-year-old Mary Helgeman of Castalia collided on Washington Street when both backed out of a parking space at the same time. Neither was hurt nor ticketed. The accident caused $1,600 in damages.
At 3:15 p.m. Friday, a car driven by 15-year-old Mitchell Burggraf of Decorah went out of control and struck a car driven by 47-year-old Rita Tejada of Decorah, causing $2,200 in damages. Neither driver was ticketed.
At 6:49 p.m. Friday, 55-year-old Mary Jackson of Waukon lost control of her car on Highway 9 and entered a ditch, causing $1,500 in damages.
At 7:55 p.m. Friday, 49-year-old James Wott of Decorah failed to negotiate a curve on West Ravine Road and went into a ditch, causing $2,500 in damages.
At 9:17 p.m. Friday Thomas Cameron of Decorah lost control of his vehicle turning from College Drive onto Heivly Street. He hit a light pole, causing $300 in damages.
At 8:24 p.m. Saturday, 15-year-old Trent Tweten of Decorah lost control of his car on Pearl Street and struck a power pole, causing $1,800 in damages.
At 7:00 a.m. Monday, 51-year-old Sheri Herold of Waukon was traveling west on Highway 9 when she struck a deer, causing her vehcile to be totally destroyed. Herold was not injured.
And at 1:55 p.m. Monday, 63-year-old Susan Heying of Calmar and 54-year-old Joan Learn of West Union collided at River Street and Main Street, causing $3,000 in damages.
