The Decorah city council has unanimously approved the issuance of private college facility revenue bonds for Luther College. The school will use the money--up to $8 million--to pay for renovations to Miller and Dieseth Halls on campus.
The bonds will be paid for by Luther College. The school had just asked the city council to allow it to take advantage of provisions that allow non-profit groups to use the bonding capacity of municipalities.
No one commented during a brief public hearing on the bonding Monday night.
