Luther College swimmers took part Tuesday afternoon in the "Hour of Power," a fundraiser for cancer research. For one hour swim team members swam in relays in an event aimed at getting donations from friends, family and faculty members.
Last year the Luther swim team raised over $3,000 from the event. Nationwide the event has raised more than $190,000. If anyone would like to donate, please contact Luther Head Coach Lance Huber at (563) 387-1578
The Hour of Power Relay has personal meaning for the Norse swimmers because Norse swimmer Jim Penning, a sophomore from Northfield, Minnesota, has been diagnosed, treated, and is in remission of sarcoma cancer. An interview with Penning can be seen at http://media.luther.edu/sports/interviews/hourofpower.mov
