Decorah High School Class of 1956 hopes their donations will encourage other donations

Members of the Decorah High School Class of 1956 have a message for other graduating classes at the high school--please step up and match the support the Class of '56 is giving to the high school.

Four members of the Class of 1956 came out to the high school Thursday to formalize their class' donation of $500 to the Decorah Music Boosters and $500 to the Decorah Viking Athletic Booster Club.

Tip Weis, Bill Becvar, Tom Haugen and Bev Christen are busy planning their class' 50th reunion for next Labor Day weekend--but they also want to help support programs at Decorah High School.  On Thursday morning the group presented checks to Decorah High School Athletic Director Adam Riley and to Decorah High School Band teacher Jim Fritz.
