Heavy turnout in Allamakee County sends Bob Hager to Iowa Assembly

Bob Hager is the new State Representative from Allamakee and Winneshiek County. 

Hager edged Democrat John Beard by 234 votes, collecting 5,570 votes to Beard's 5,336.

Beard compiled a 1,200 vote lead in Winneshiek County results, outpolling Hager 3,439 to 2,222.  But heavy voter turnout in Allamakee County because of hotly contested supervisor races brought 5,245 voters to the polls there.  Hager outpolled Beard 3,348 to 1,897.
