Trout Run Trail project receives Iowa Great Places recognition

The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs has recognized Decorah's Trout Run Trails as one of the outstanding Iowa Great Places projects.

At the agency's second annual awards ceremony in Des Moines, the agency recognized the trail project as the best project at developing a sustainable community and Pleasing environment.  State officials said the Trout Run Trail project "implements sustainable community development principles and works toward greater energy efficiency, which produces a clean, healthy and accessible natural and built environment."
