Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission will not be moving to Decorah in the near future. The Commission Board of Directors voted Thursday night to continue looking at properties for new offices--but it did not approve a contract to purchase the former Bruening Rock Products building in Decorah.
The action comes on the heels of a petition filed by the City of Postville challenging a previous vote by the board to approve the purchase. Earlier this week a judge ruled that the dispute over the previous vote would not prevent the UERPC Board from taking a new vote on the contract. However, when the ERPC Board met Thursday night, it did not approve the contract.
