Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Where can I redeem cans and bottles in Decorah?"

Jocelyn e-mails: I have a question for Mr. Answer Person. Where can you return cans for bottle deposit? Is Walmart the only option?

Mr. Answer Person says: Wal-Mart is one of the options, but not the only one.  Any business that sells pop or beer or wine is required by Iowa law to be a redemption center as well.  That means places like Fareway, Quillin's, Oneota Co-op, JD's House of Wine and Spirits and other places that sell pop and beer and wine have to allow you to drop off your empties and get your bottle deposit money back.  There is also a Redemption Center at the east end of Main Street, near the fairgrounds.
