UPDATE: Decorah woman pleads innocent to charges of violating the city's building maintenance ordinance

Decorah resident Kay Strand on Wednesday morning entered an innocent plea to charges of violating the city's property maintenance ordinance.  A trial on the case will be held in late November or early December in Municipal Court.

The Decorah City Council recently ordered city Attorney Rick Zahasky to file charges against Strand after she allegedly missed deadlines set by the city for cleaning up her property at 701 Maple Avenue.  The complaint filed against Strand says the building is not watertight and violates the city's standards for building maintenance.
