16 Decorah High School musicians qualify for All-State

16 musicians from Decorah High School were selected for the All State Music Festival following auditions on Saturday.

That included a record of eight singers chosen for the All State Chorus.   Sopranos Sarah Brandt and Sarah Hammel, altos Allison Fretheim and Allison Kephart, tenor Gabriel Smith and basses Hans Holkesvik, Aaron Kvale and James Ostlie were chosen.  Claire Breitenstein, Jonathan Knudson, Isaac Mertzenich and John Werner were called back for a second audition, but not selected.

Violinists Lucas Blekeberg, Aubrey Ellickson and Jonathon Winter and string bass players Erica Bjelland, Michael Eastwood and Eric Fulsaas were chosen for the All State Orchestra, while Elizabeth Shroyer was called back for a second audition, but not chosen.

Flutist Kasi Misseldine was chosen for the All State Band, while Matt Sullivan was chosen 1st alternate clarinet.  Ingrid Rotto, Blaire Shaffer and Colin Zidlicky were called back for a second audition, but not selected..
