UPDATE: New clues for police investigation into residential burglary on Middle Calmar Road

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says it has more information on Wednesday's burglary at a home on Middle Calmar Road.

Police say among the items taken in the burglary were a bright cobalt blue Jansport backpack and a large giraffe print purse with blue straps.  Because the items are relatively unique, police are hoping a member of the public will spot one of the items.

The Sheriff's Department also says the homeowners have given officers the serial numbers of several of the other items taken. 

They are asking anyone who might have seen unknown vehicles pull into and out of driveways during daytime hours to contact the sheriff's department at (563) 382-4268.

Police say the thieves broke in through a rear door of the home and took clothing, digital cameras, a GPS unit and jewelry.
