City council approves apartment rebuilding site plan

The Decorah City Council on Monday night approved the site plan for the reconstruction of the Pyramid Apartments at 706 Maiden Lane.  The apartments burned down several weeks ago.  The owner of the property, Stanley White, wants to rebuild on the same location with the same design and number of units that previously existed.

However, the city council postponed action on a site plan fpr Traditions Assisted Living Facility.  Instead it scheduled a public hearing on the site plan for November 1st.  City council member Rachel Vagts said the city council deserves to get input from the people affected by the development.
