Decorah firefighters respond to farm fire Saturday

The Decorah Fire Department received a call around 9:30 Saturday morning about farm buildings on fire at the Mark Gavle farm at 1538 Big Canoe Road. 

When firefighters arrived, they found that two 20' x 30' sheds were completely consumed by fire.  A large wood pile was also burning.  The fire was quickly brought under control.  The wood pile was spread out and extinguished.  Both buildings were destroyed as well as their contents.  The wood pile was also destroyed. 

No damage estimate is available at this time.  No injuries were reported.  The fire appears to have started in the area of the outdoor woodstove and the large wood pile. 

The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by the Mabel Fire Department and Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department.
