Former Decorah resident still trying to get paid by State of Iowa for film he produced in Iowa

The scandal involving the Iowa Film Office is still entangling Decorah native Tim Anderson.

The Des Moines Register is reporting that Anderson's company, Mississippi Films, so far has been denied money the state has promised as a subsidy for the production of the movie "Aaseamah's Journey."  At stake is some $3.35 million in production costs.

The Register reported that state officials have decided to deny tax credits to Mississippi Films, claiming that it failed to show any spending that qualified for the tax incentives.

Anderson, who now lives in Chicago, told the newspaper that the state's decision was news to him.  Anderson told the Des Moines Register that his company had provided all financial materials requested by the state.

Anderson's attorney says the firm has been providing additional information to the state and has also been discussing with state officials their interpretation of the film production tax credit legislation.
