Boy Scout wraps up work on welcome sign landscaping

Boy Scout Donald Spieker on Monday wrapped up his landscaping of the Decorah welcome sign on Montgomery Street.  Spieker and other Boy Scouts removed stone from in front of the sign and laid down mulch.  They also planted numerous bushes and plants.

Donald said afterwards he wanted to thank Scout leaders Don Denning and Ken Amdahl and the other Boy Scouts and volunteers; Al & Anita Weis and Keri Krumme at Ladybug Floral and Landscapes, Jim Lukes at Decorah Greenhouse and Wayne and Susan White at Hezler's Garden Shop; city officials Rick Edwards, Dave Tollefson and the members of the city's Streets Committee; and welcome sign donors Cy & Mona Nelson, Vernelle Weis, Lorraine Borowski, Phyllis Massman and D.J. Morris from Hilltop Lofts.
