If you've ever wanted to weld your own yard art, NICC Calmar has a class that will teach you how to weld your own outdoor art creations.
Corey Buchheit, an artist and welder, will teach two yard art series, one on three Tuesdays (October 26th through November 9th) and another on three Thursdays (October 28th through November 11th). Both sets of classes will be taught from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. each night in the Welding room at the NICC Cresco Center.
Participants will have an opportunity to create their own garden and yard artwork, such as turning discarded roller chains into ornamental chain flowers or other pieces of abstract art. Students should wear old clothes, safety glasses and sturdy work gloves for each class.
Enrollment is limited, so NICC encourages community members to register soon. Call NICC at (800) 728-2256, extension 399, to register. For more information, call Mary Steen, continuing education program manager, at (800) 728-2256, extension 341.
