Winneshiek Medical Center's Chief Medical Officer is resigning

Dr. Kurt Carlson

The Chief Medical Officer at Winneshiek Medical Center--Dr. Kurt Carlson--has submitted his resignation.

Dr. Carlson is returning to Rochester, where he had worked for 18 years at Mayo Clinic Rochester.

Dr. Carlson had worked at Winneshiek Medical Center since February 11th of 2008.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1980 and completed his residency in 1983 at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. He served at Mayo Clinic from 1990 to 2008, including seven years spent as a member of the Albert Lea Medical Board of Trustees.
