Dale Putnam, the attorney for Winneshiek County Recorder LaVonne Bjergum, has sent another letter to Winneshiek County supervisors about the performance of the Recorder's Office.
In the letter, Putnam says the procedures recommended by Hacker Nelson Co. in its audit and in a letter sent by County Attorney Andy Van Der Maaten have been acted upon.
The letter says documents filed in the Recorder's Office will be uploaded to the Iowa Land Records website within 72 hours, with the exception of deeds and plats which must be reviewed. The letter says any additional requirements will be fully implemented no later than December 31st, 2011, as required by state statute.
The letter says the procedures have been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney.
The Winneshiek County Board has accepted the letter and read it, but took no formal action.
