There's a new Cancer Support Group in Decorah that will meet next Tuesday, September 28th, at 6:00 p.m. at Gundersen Clinic-Decorah.  The group holds its regular meeting every fourth Tuesday of the month, splitting locations between Gundersen and WMC.

WMC does offer regular prostate cancer screenings.  Call 382-2911 to get the schedule for the next screenings (the last one was on Wednesday)

In recent months, WMC has been building a Cancer Resource Center.  this center has many resources here in Decorah.  One valuable resource is hospital social worker Karen Nielsen!  Anyone can call her for more information at (563) 387-3046.  She also is connected to the American Cancer Society and to the Iowa Cancer Consortium, which are other resources.
 
Karen says, "I'm not aware of a group dedicated to men only in Winneshiek County or as a fund raising group for men only.  I would encourage him to join in the cancer support group."
