The Spectrum Network has been awarded a $2,500 grant from Bank of the West for "From My Perspective," a photo exhibit aimed at raising awareness about disability.
The photographs challenge public perceptions of and assumptions about disability. Silver Moon Photography in Decorah will prepare the photographs. The exhibit will travel throughout the region in 2011.
"This project has two objectives: to inform and educate the public about disability, and to record and honor historical changes that have occurred for those living with a disability in this region," says Toni Smith, executive director of The Spectrum Network.
