Ballots are now ready for absentee voting for November election

The Winneshiek County Auditor's Office has received the ballots for the 2010 General Election to be held November 2nd.

As a result, absentee voting will begin Thursday at the Auditor's Office in the Courthouse.  Absentee voting will continue through Monday, November 1st.

You can cast an absentee ballot during regular office hours (8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) at the Auditor's Office.

A Satellite Absentee Voting Station for Decorah Wards 4 & 5 only will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on October 13th at the Dahl Centennial Union at Luther College.  The Auditor's Office will also be open Saturday, October 23rd, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 30th, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. 

Saturday, October 23rd, is the pre-registration deadline.  After that day NEW voters (not registered in Winneshiek County) will be required to show proof of ID and residency before voting.
