Work on the Decorah welcome sign is progressing

A group of Boy Scouts and other volunteers is continuing to make improvements to the landscaping in front of the Decorah welcome sign on Montgomery Street.

Boy Scout Don Spieker is spearheading the project as part of his Eagle Scout project.  A group of volunteers has held two work sessions at the welcome sign.  Perennials such as daylilies, coneflowers, salvia and asters have been planted and mulch has been laid down to keep weed controlled.  

A final work session for the fall is being organized and will be held soon.
