Eight students at Decorah High School have earned Advanced Placement Exam honors.
Two students--Sam Zook and Charlie Vermace--have been received the AP Scholar with Honor Award for earning an average score of at least 3.25 on the exams they took.
Six other students earned the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more exams with scores of 3.0 or higher. They are Clara Bergan, Bethany Davidson, Gavin Markee, Gabe Smith, Breanna Tangen and Sam Vanney.
The Advanced Placement Program gives high school students a chance to earn college credits while still in high school by taking rigorous classes in high school and then taking an AP test in that subject. About 1.8 million students worldwide took the latest round of AP tests. About 18 percent of them earned an AP Scholar Award.
