Northeast Iowa Community College is announcing it will be offering a variety of green industry trainings this fall at no cost for pre-approved applicants.
A class in wind energy will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays from October 4th through November 3rd. The class will discuss assembling, maintaining and repairing wind turbines used in wind energy generation and the fundamentals of site acquisition, design, construction, turbine service, operation, preventative maintenance and repair.
A class in solar, wind, hydro and geothermal will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays from November 8th through December 6th. The course offers students an introduction to Solar, Wind, Hydro and Geothermal power.
A class in wind technology for electricians will be held Saturday, October 16th. The daylong seminar includes discussions on the history of wind technology, types of power systems, safety, and much more.
The Center on Sustainable Communities will hold two 40-hour workshops on construction--Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd through 24th and November 12th through 14th. The workshop series offers local contractors, subcontractors, planners, architects, appraisers, city officials and other professionals a valuable opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of green building best practices.
