Winneshiek County 4-H'ers competed at the Iowa State Fair

Winneshiek County 4-H'ers dodged the rain and the heat this year to attend the Iowa State Fair. There were 47 4-H exhibits selected from Winneshiek County to attend the Iowa State Fair. These exhibits were on display throughout the entire fair in the 4-H Exhibits Building. Winneshiek County 4-H'ers also participated in livestock shows, communications events and clothing events. These events are open to the general public and are held throughout the entire State Fair.

Iowa 4-H Robotics Challenge Results
Logan Brincks, Lucas Brincks and Devin Franzen teamed up to compete in the Iowa 4-H Robotics Challenge at the Iowa State Fair. The team received the Junk Drawer Challenge Award for receiving first place honors in that event. The team also received the Clover Award for demonstrating outstanding 4-H values in teamwork, responsibility, learning, cooperation and showing respect for others.

4-H Jr. Dairy Judging Results
Josie Buddenberg, Megan Bushman (5th place overall), Carter Zidlicky (2nd place overall), & Cody Zidlicky (6th place overall) won the Jr. Division of the Dairy Judging Contest at the Iowa State Fair.

4-H Sr. Dairy Judging Results
Winneshiek County had three Sr. Dairy Judging Teams at the Iowa State Fair. Cassidy Buddenberg, Ben Hanson, & Mikayla Lien placed 13th overall as a team. Michael Lyons, Tanner Mashek, Ashley Bushman, and Karla Hageman received 9th overall as a team. Mariah Schmitt, Kelsey Schnuelle, and Colin Zidlicky received 16th overall as a team. Megan Lien competed as an individual and placed 47th individually overall.
