Ward and Jacky Budweg spent three years visiting 46 foreign countries on their bicycles--and came back with a lifetime of memories.

The two on Tuesday night discussed their adventure before a crowd of 125 people at the Carrie Lee auditorium.

"When Jacky asked me in a prenuptial agreement to cycle around the world, it wasn't that hard to agree," said Ward.  So the couple sold everything they owned--including their house and business--and set off in June of 2007.  They visited Europe, Africa, Central America, South America, Australia and SE Asia.

During the trip they changed tires 100 times, cycled 400 miles between towns some times and spent 3,000 hours on their bicycles.

They met "really nice people all around the world," says Jacky.  In fact, they were surprised how willing people were to let them camp in their lawns.  Many people invited them to share meals.

Only once did they have something taken from them.  They were sick for just a few days during the three years.  They never got lost--because they designed their trip to go wherever the road took them.

From June of 2007 through June of 2010, the Budwegs traveled over 33,500 miles, visiting 46 different countries.

Now that they are home, the Budwegs plan to write a book about their adventures.  "My new dream is to be on "Oprah" with the book," says Jacky.
