NICC introduces "Develop the Leader, Transform an Organiation" Leadership Series

Posted: Tue, Aug 24, 2010 5:53 PM

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) will introduce a new professional development leadership series for entrepreneurs, community leaders, managers, administrators or others wanting to assume leadership roles in their communities. The leadership series, titled Develop the Leader, Transform an Organization, teaches participants about identifying, managing and resolving conflict, coaching high performing teams and managing transformational change in an organization.

Now more than ever, organizations need employees with excellent leadership skills.  Enhancement of leadership skills increases a professional's value, contributes to the overall success of those who report to managers and positively impacts an organization. NICC will host the three sessions in the series at the college's Calmar campus.

Attendees may take either individual classes that target personal development needs or take all three classes in the series as a package. NICC awards a Leadership Series Certificate upon successful completion of all three classes. The three classes include: Conflict Resolution (September 24); Developing Effective Teams (October 22); and Facilitating Organizational Change (November 19).  All classes are scheduled to meet on the Calmar Campus from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Sheila Schmidt, a performance management consultant specializing in organizational development, will teach the leadership series. Schmidt approach focuses on leadership development and change management.

This Leadership Series is designed to provide participants with an interactive, personal development learning experience. Because classes are limited to 14 participants, NICC encourages early registration to ensure a place in the classes.
