Decorah FFA Excels At the Iowa State Fair

Nine Decorah FFA members excelled at exhibiting livestock this past week. In the area of equestrian events,member Dustin Bigler had the Grand Champion light horse breed halter and Lynnae Bigler received Reserve Champion light horse breed halter. Dalton Frana was nominated for the Grand or Reserve champion pony. Danielle Fulsaas exhibited her Western Palamino horse. Lynnae Bigler advanced into the final cut of Western Pleasure receiving a fifth
place purple and the Decorah FFA horse team received second place overall in the Iowa FFA Association horse show.

Andrew Luzum and Kelsey Bruvold exhibited
poultry. Andrew received first place in showmanship and both Andrew
and Kelsey received purple ribbons with their pen of five broilers.

Kia Knutson exhibited her two commercial breeding beef heifers, which received a third and fifth place purple rating, overall.

Mitch Schluter brought his swine, to the state fair. He respectively received second in his class with his purebred York gilt.

Shelby  Cornelius represented the Decorah FFA Chapter in the area of dairy goats, which was exhibited Thursday, August 19th.
