"La Guadalupana" Mexican store opens on Water Street

La Guadalupana, a Mexican store, is scheduled to open this Friday at 404 West Water, complete with free tamales between 9 and 10 a.m.  The store specializes in Mexican groceries, some gift and clothing items, and beverages (including Mexican beer). They will also provide a money transfer service that many local residents utilize to send money to friends or relatives in Mexico.

The owner is Maria G. Razo, who moved here from Tama with her family. She previously ran a restaurant in Tama. Maria also has relatives in the Decorah area.
