Decorah musician John Goodin will be the "Composer in Residence" at the 2010 convention of the Classical Mandolin Society of America in October in Seattle.
The CMSA represents members of more than 60 performing groups in the United States and Canada.
Goodin has played the guitar and the mandolin in a variety of styles since shortly after seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. His mandolin orchestra compositions have been performed around the world and recorded in Germany, Australia, Greece and the United States. Goodin performs with "Contratopia," an Upper Midwest contra dance band. He is also the author of "Blueberries to Boston," a collection of original fiddle tunes, published by Plucked String, Inc.
