RSVP looking for people who want a "Friendly Visitor" program visit

The Northeast Iowa Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is seeking Allamakee, Howard and Winneshiek county residents who are home bound due to age, physical disability or other reasons and would enjoy having a weekly hour long visit from an RSVP Friendly Visitor Volunteer.  

Referrals are being accepted by RSVP from the individual, friends, family, churches or other organizations.  Acceptance into the program requires an application and visit/interview by an RSVP staff person.  RSVP Friendly Visitors will be matched as closely as possible with the individual based on interests, background, or other indicated preferences.

According to Northeast Iowa RSVP Director Kathy Barloon, "We hope that members of these counties will take advantage of this program and the opportunity for regular companionship as a way to maintain a connection to the wider world and form a new friendship."
