Prices have gone up at Winneshiek Medical Center

Winneshiek Medical Center is operating in the black--and officials want to keep it that way.

Hospital officials say a six percent price increase was implemented on July 1st.  The price hike is expected to raise an addition $4 million in total patient service revenue during the 2010-2011 fiscal year.  Hospital officials hope that will help Winneshiek Medical Center to show a $1.5 million operating gain during the fiscal year.  The money is needed, they say, to keep the hospital in good financial shape and to make sure it has the funds to handle any major financial expenses.
