County and local officials meet with state and federal officials Wednesday about floodplain maps

Wednesday's meeting was held in the third floor courtroom at the Winneshiek County Courthouse

State and federal officials on Wednesday presented the newly-revised floodplain maps for Winneshiek County to county and local officials.

The meeting with public officials was aimed at finalizing the updated floodplain maps.  FEMA and DNR officials discussed the process for requesting revisions in the floodplain maps, using either letters of map amendment or letters of map revisions.  About 30 people attended Wednesday's meeting.
