The Clay Studio finishes second in statewide contest

For the second time in two months, a Decorah business has finished as runner-up in the "Dream Big, Live Here" contest sponsored by the "MyEntreNet" program at the University of Northern Iowa.

Rachelle Reis Branum received 1,634 votes for her proposal to open The Clay Studio, a community pottery studio. at 207 Washington Street.  Her entry in the contest to win a $1,000 start-up grant stated the pottery studio would "provide a creative outlet, entertainment for visitors and residents, and a creative community through clay."  The grant would have been used to buy pottery wheels for use at the studio.
