Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Is there a reason there are no chairs at the Decorah pool?"

Erica e-mails: "I have a question for Mr. Answer Person.  I love visiting other cities that have great municipal pools, and one thing that makes them so much more enjoyable is the fact that there are chairs at those pools.  Is there a reason there are no chairs at the Decorah pool?"

In a word, "money."  The swimming pool usually loses it, so it's sometimes hard to come up with the funds for improvements.  However, Park-Rec Director Rick Edwards, when given Erica's question, answered "I would be willing to look at chairs if someone would be willing to donate.  As with everything else liability is a concern so they would need to be very sturdy chairs."

Is there anyone who might be interested in donating money to buy chairs for the Decorah swimming pool?  If so, contact Rick Edwards at City Hall
