Decorah firefighters respond to two fires

The Decorah Fire Department was called out at 11:39 a.m. Sunday to the Paul Sorum farm at 2237 Glennville Road for a bale fire.   Over 200 round bales caught fire in a building near the back of the farm.   The fire was contained by the building.  The fire department assisted the farm owner in controlling the bale fire.   Several members of the Decorah Fire Department remained on scene for over 11 hours.  Assisting Decorah Fire department was Frankville Fire Department and Waukon Fire Departments.   Water for the fire was used from two dry hydrants in the area.  

At 5:02 p.m. Monday the Decorah Fire Department was called to assist Canton Minnesota Fire Department for a trailer house fire in Burr Oak.   The department was on scene for about an hour.
