Decorah man drowns in Turkey River

Emergency crews have recovered the body of a Decorah man from the Turkey River near Waucoma.

The Fayette County sheriff's office says 30-year-old Christopher Spilde was on a canoe trip on the Turkey River. He was last seen swimming across the river around 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities searched the river and found Spilde's body a short time later.
