The North Winneshiek School Board has approved a five year renewal of the school district's instructional support levy.
The action was taken Monday afternoon following a public hearing at which no comments were taken. The board then proceeded to approve the resolution to continue with the Instructional Support Program until June 2016.
Instructional Support generates about $150,000 for the North Winneshiek School District. It is funded by a combination of income surtaxes, property taxes and state aid. The district has the option of renewing the instructional support levy every five years. The district's current instructional support ends in June 2011.
