Special School Board meeting set for July 19th

A Citizen Committee, emerging from the Shareholders Group of the Decorah Community Schools is expected to present a petition to the School Board at a special meeting, at 5:00 p.m., Monday July 19.  The petition will call for the Board to initiate a bond issue, in excess of $10 million, to renovate and provide additions to the high school.  The petition would also call for the Board to extend the current PPEL levy in support of the project.

The Board was expected to accept the petition at their July 12 meeting, but elected to wait until a full board could be in attendance next week. Board President Mona Nelson was not at the Monday night meeting.
