For now the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors is not discussing a proposed subdivision street ordinance.
Supervisors held a first reading of the ordinance at 11:15 a.m. Monday. However, they did not discuss the ordinance--instead scheduling another reading next Monday.
The ordinance is a new version of an ordinance that was first discussed last year, but prompted public outcry from developers and others. The new ordinance would allow subdivision streets to be admitted into the county road system, but the idea has brought strong reaction from several county officials.
