Winneshiek County Fair hoping for drier weather

It was a Wet Wednesday at the 2010 Winneshiek County Fair.  Heavy morning rains left large puddles throughout the fairgrounds.  However, the scheduled activities continued despite the rain, which let up in the afternoon.

Thursday's activities at the fair include Upper Iowa Speedway stock car races at 6:30 p.m. in front of the grandstand (Hot laps begin at 6:00 p.m.).  Livestock judging events include the 4-H/FFA Swine Show starting at 8:30 a.m., the 4-H/FFA Horse Show at 9:00 a.m. and the Pee Wee Dairy Show at noon.

Other events Thursday include an Old Fashioned Box Social at 5:00 p.m. and a chocolate-chip cookie contest at noon.
