Gundersen Lutheran Health System has pledged $25,000 to Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum over the next five years to fully support the museum's Window on the World Farm Program.

The funding will help over 600 area third graders by reimbursing school transportation costs and admission fees and purchasing materials and equipment for the program.

The Window on the World Farm Program helps students understand the history of agriculture. The program gives students the opportunity to use 19th century agricultural technology and machinery to press apples, make rope, shell corn, and cultivate the garden.  Third graders in the Decorah and North Winneshiek School districts participate in the program.
