It was a wet June in Decorah--the 15th wettest in the 115 years for which records have been kept.
Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says a total of 7.93 inches of precipitation fell during June. That was 2.96 inches more than the average of 4.57 inches of precipitation in June. 17 out of the 30 days in June had measurable precipitation. June's 7.93 inches of precipitation left the town with a surplus of 5.2 inches over the average precipitation for the last 12 months.
Bernatz says June was slightly warmer than normal in Decorah, with an average temperature of 68.9 degrees--one degree warmer than average.
